First of all, most of you already know that on Thurs night last week,
the Louisiana Tech Chi Alpha Ministry House caught on fire. We
want to thank the Lord that no one was in the house at the time, and
that no one was injured at all. Although no one was
injured, all who are a part of the story of Louisiana Tech Chi Alpha
past and present are hurting at this time, especially the guys who
lived in the house and lost everything they owned.
I just wanted to update everyone on the status of what happened and what you might be able to do to help.
On Thurs., March 2nd, someone in Ruston cut down a tree on a power line
across town. The result was several power surges in the city, and
finally the power going out completely. At about 7pm Claude and
Greg, who both live in the house, decided to go out to get dinner since
the power was out. About an hour later they returned to a
facility on fire. Immediately 911 was called, but to little
avail, the fire had destroyed most everything. Although the house
still stands, it is very hard to look at what remains without choking
up and not necessarily from the suet. We have facilitated
ministry for 8 yrs. in that house and now we have no facility
left. We know in the end God will bless us beyond our belief and
He will receive the glory for that, but right now things are tough.
In the near and far future we will need your prayers and any help
you can offer. Please pass this on to those who might be affected
by this tragedy.
The immediate needs are as follows:
- We have no rent coming in. We need about $2000 to pay bills
and unforeseen needs for this month that we usually pay with rent.
- We would like for you to help "adopt" a guy who lived here and
lost everything. We want to bless these guys with $2500 each to
replace everything from toothbrush to tennis shoes. The really
lost everything. I bet none of us could replace everything with
just $2500. These guys personal stuff is not covered with the
insurance.
- We will need all sorts of things to replace from silverware to sofas for our ministry.
If you would like to help in any way please call Jennifer Babineaux at 318-278-4975.
If you have any information questions please call Philip Babineaux at 318-278-4970.
These guys will be the contact guys for helping us to get on our feet
again. We truly believe that God is in the business of snatching
victory from the jaws of defeat!!
He will receive glory and great things are going to happen at Louisiana Tech University this Quarter.
Thanks for your prayers and help in time of need,
Greg Pampell
Louisiana Tech Chi Alpha Director

looking forward to the orientation this week. It's our last one,
and I think it's gonna be the best. I'm excited about this year
and all the new people, that i know the Lord is gonna bless us

| yea!
great time at the reunion this weekend. It was great seeing all
the old familiar faces. I hope everyone had a great time.
We are going to try and do this every 2 years. If you accidently
got left out and didn't recieve an invite, i'm terribly sorry, but it
was our first attempt and hopefully we'll get better as we go.
It's really hard to not let anyone slip through the cracks. The
way to help is to keep in touch and keep your records up to date.
I believe we now have a link to the xa alumni page on our
webpage.
oreintations are going great. we have probably made about 25 to
30 solid freshman contacts so far and we're only halfway through.
keep prayin and be ready to work in the fall all chi alphans. we
have a great responsibility to these freshman, just like we did to you
when you were a freshman.
Love you guys, all of you!!!
